We have all known or seen someone who is trying to be someone or something they are not. Most of the time it is blatantly obvious when someone is not being authentic. Vanilla Ice is a perfect example of someone who was trying to fit in. Vannilla rapped about how he grew up in the streets and tried to make the world believe that he had it ruff just like the other rappers on the scene at the time. Well, sooner or later the public became aware that he had actually grown up in a nice area and lived with his parents. This is nothing to be ashamed of, in fact, if he would have rapped about his real life people would have loved him all the same and his career would have lasted a lot longer.

The fact is, people like other people who are REAL, they don't respect a FAKE or a phony. This is refreshing to know because it is far easier and more comfortable to be yourself instead of attempting to guess what people might like. Plus when you are authentic to yourself you will also stand out as being unique, because there is no one out there exactly like you. You have your own stories and your own life experiences that are you unique to you, and you will be far more successful if you share what you know from your own experiences rather than relying on other people's experiences.

When you TRULY understand this principal you will start to be attractive to people because everyone appreciates authenticity. You will begin to stand out as a leader, not just another person following the crowd. This can be challenging if you are constantly thinking about what other people think of you. In order to truly be yourself and be authentic you need to realize that people will admire you more just for being true to who you are.

Remember:
1/3 of people will hate you
1/3 of people will love you
1/3 of people do not care

If 100% of the people you meet think that you are just O.K. or mediocre, you will never be anything but MEDIOCRE. This is a powerful lesson to remember in your life, because I find in my own life that I try to please everyone, and that is a recipe for disaster. If you are constantly trying to pleas everyone around you, then there is no way that you can be true to yourself. It is simply impossible to have everyone love you, so do not even try.

Ryan Martin is a network marketer who discovered the power of the Internet early in his career, and has never looked back.
